DIgSILENT releases the Preview version of PowerFactory 2023
DIgSILENT has released a Preview version of PowerFactory 2023. We are pleased to introduce this preview version of PowerFactory, which includes new analysis functions, many new and enhanced network models, as well as further developments to the user interface.

The significant developments in PowerFactory 2023 include:
- New Low Voltage Load Flow Calculation function, using coincidence curves to model the stochastic consumption behaviour of low voltage loads.
- New Flow Decomposition function, for analysing network flows in order to determine the contributions of loop flows, transit flows, import/export flows, etc.
- Further developments in Power Quality and Harmonic Analysis, including n-1 contingencies in the Harmonic Load Flow and Frequency Sweep calculations.
- Additional features for Optimal Power Flow, such as redispatch costs for generators, support of external tap controllers and option to use additional external solvers for faster optimisation.
- New reporting concept, allowing standard and customised reports to be generated in PDF and other formats. In addition to the standard inbuilt reports, a Report Designer allows users to create their own report templates.
- Provision of the graphical modelling environment for Modelica simulation models.
- Library Browser for dynamic model block diagrams, allowing easy selection of DSL macros and Modelica simulation models.
- Developments to the user interface include a redesign of context menus, and a simplification of the new-object dialog.
- Many new and improved Power Equipment Models, meeting the need for flexible and detailed modelling of modern power networks.
With the new features in the PowerFactory 2023 Preview version, we continue the process of enhancement and development which ensures that PowerFactory remains the ideal tool for a wide range of network planning and operational studies, from small micro-grids to large transmission and distribution networks, including HVDC and renewable technologies.

Please be aware that this preview version is for your interest and feedback only; the official release is expected in January 2023.

Support of previous versions:
DIgSILENT will actively continue to support the two previous versions PowerFactory 2022 and 2021. Following the formal release, we will officially discontinue support of the preceding version PowerFactory 2020 and will not provide any further service packs for this former version.
End of 32-bit versions:
PowerFactory 2022 was the last release for both 64-bit and 32-bit operating systems. Beginning with PowerFactory 2023, PowerFactory is available in 64-bit technology only.
